Eight semesters of rigorous, in-depth instruction are provided by CCM musical theater and acting programs. Acting, dance, and voice instruction are offered by CCM Musical Theatre. How to apply and its process

To upload pre-screening materials, applicants must first submit an application for admission to the University of Cincinnati. You should submit your admissions application as soon as possible if you haven’t already (Common App, UC Transfer Application, or UC Graduate Application).

Undergraduate applicants will receive an email from UC Admissions with their application reference ID number within 24 to 48 hours of submitting an application, and graduate applicants will receive an email with their application ID number shortly after.

Applying as an undergraduate, you must use the application reference ID number that UC Admissions emailed to you. This is not the same as your Common App ID. By visiting your University of Cincinnati Application Status Page, you can find your application reference ID number. When requesting a change of college or readmission, current or former UC students should instead enter their M-Number.

Sending applications to many programs

In order to be considered for admission to more than one major (for example, acting and musical theater), you must fill out the necessary pre-screening application and pay the respective program fees. Only the program or programs for which you submit pre-screening papers will you be given consideration for admission.

Applying with both performance and music education as your double major

Make sure to choose “Bachelor of Music” as your Degree/Area and “BM: Double Major (Music Education & Performance)” as your Program when you go to Acceptd’s “Start an Application” page. Make sure the program you select lists the appropriate instrument or area for you.

Deadline for Application Submission

  • The deadline for submitting admissions application materials is December 1, 2023. For your documents to be considered for a scholarship, they must be received by this deadline.
  • December 3, 2023: Pre-screening submission deadline (unless specified otherwise for your specific major).
  • The deadline for individuals invited to choose their desired audition/interview date is December 21, 2024, at 12 p.m. EST.
  • The deadline to submit an application for the Arts Administration program is January 2, 2024.
  • The deadline for first-year applicants to finish their application for the BFA in Media Production exclusively is March 1, 2024.
  • The deadline for completing an application alone for the BA in music for transfer/UC transition applicants.
  • The deadline to submit pre-screening for first-year applicants to the BFA in Media Production program is March 3, 2024 and the deadline for submitting pre-screening materials for the BA in Music exclusively is for transfer/UC transition applicants.
  • The deadline to submit an application for an MFA program is May 1, 2024.
  • The application deadline for the three-summer Master of Music Education program is June 1, 2024.
  • June 1, 2024: The deadline for applicants wishing to transfer or transition from UC to BFA in Media Production exclusively.
  • Applications for transfer or UC transition must be submitted by June 3, 2024, in order to be considered for the BFA in Media Production alone.

By mid-December, applicants will receive an email with the results of their pre-screening. Students can select from a list of dates in January and February if they are invited for an audition or interview.
